News from the Choir

On Wednesday 10th October 2012, the choir were treated to an afternoon of awe and wonder at the Music For Youth Primary Proms held at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

This was a fantastic opportunity for the children to develop their aural awareness in addition to inspiring them (and the adults) to create some of their own music.

There was an eclectic range of performances; from a synth group to an 85 piece orchestra, all the way through to a traditional jazz group. The children also
had the chance to join in with a special piece commissioned for the event,
entitled 'Jigsaw'. The children were amazed at all the talent showcased and
particularly excited when they found out that Barney from CBBC was presenting
the whole event!

The children were an absolute credit to themselves and the school and we look forward to our very own 'proms' in the form of the Art and Music event later on in the school year.

THE  BOYS’ SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM REPORT

So far this season we have played four matches; the first was against Wincheap school and this was the first time we have played as a team. The result was a 5-1 win to Bridge school.
Our second game was against St Stephen’s who we played last year in the school’s cup final. They have always been a strong team however Bridge school were able to beat them 2-0.
Our third game of the season was against Blean. I think this was a really good team effort, taking into account the harsh weather conditions we had to play in, and we won 4-0.
Our final game was against Chartham and we were away for the first time. This has been the highest score this season for Bridge, we won 7-0.  Goals were from Joshua, Sam, Josh, Ben, Josh and Joshua.
We have now won all four of our games and are top of the table.  We are now going into a higher league to try and win Bridge School another trophy.
